Get trained on Votebuilder.
Votebuilder is the database of all registered voters
in New Mexico that the Democratic Party uses. Watch
The Blue Review for announcements of frequent
trainings conducted by the Communications &
Technology Committee.
-
Become a voter registration
agent. Call Vincent Facio (468-1216) at the County
Clerk's office to schedule a training session.
-
Get email addresses and phone
numbers of your ward members and try to send out
some type of newsletter or just a letter from you on
a monthly basis. Inform the County Chair of any new
Democrats that have moved into your ward. Provide
County Chair with phone numbers and email addresses
of your ward members so that the database can be
kept up to date. Make sure that all your ward and
precinct officers, and as many other Democrats as
possible, are on distribution for the county party's
two newsletters, the Blue Review and Weekend Li'l
Blue, and send in announcements of your events for
publication.
-
Hold a meeting or an activity
with your precinct chairs to get to know them and
discuss strategy on getting your ward active. Keep
in constant contact with your precinct chairs to
make sure that they are actively seeking out
Democrats in their precincts.
-
Walk with precinct chairs to
get to know Democrats in your ward. Create a
community with your precincts. Keep adding to that
community by asking those Democrats to become a part
of it.
-
Hold quarterly ward meetings.
Monthly meetings are preferable with different
attendees at each meeting. Ask your Representative
or Senator to come to one of your ward meetings.
Host picnics during the summer to bring Democrats
together and invite elected officials to these
picnics.
-
If you do not have a precinct
chair in any precinct or a precinct chair who is not
performing their duties then it is up to you to
walk that precinct and look for a precinct chair or
a replacement.
-
If you are unable to get
anyone to attend any of your meetings, reach out to
your county party officials for help.
-
Have a fundraiser involving
all precinct chairs. It will help build this
community and provides you with money to send out
your newsletter.
